Check out the awesome work of Carnovsky; a Milan based artist/designer duo comprising of Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla. One of their key projects to date is their RGB range – a body of work exploring “surface’s deepness” – experimenting with surfaces which mutate and interact under different lights or filters.
Francesco and Silvia have played with the overlapping of three different images, each one in a primary color. The resulting images are unexpected and disorienting. The colors mix up, the lines and shapes entwine, and through a coloured filter (a light or a transparent material) it is possible to see clearly the separate layers in which the image is composed. Each layer exposes it’s own magical kingdom, and at the same time connect to a different psychological or emotional status that passes from the clear to the hidden, from the light to the darkness, from the awake-ness to the dream.
We love ’em. The RGB range covers wallpaper, prints, beautiful scarves and even accessories! Pretty wild or what..?
