We first became familiar with Mark Hearld‘s work a number of years ago when we noticed his signature style decorating Emma Bridgewater’s celebrated ceramic collections. His distinctive illustrative style – inspired by the flora and fauna of the British countryside – is currently taking the design world by storm; a winner for Elle Decorations’ British Design Awards 2012 with his wallpaper designs for the fabulous St. Judes fabrics & papers. And so if you haven’t yet come across his beautiful work, you are sure to see a lot more!
Mark studied illustration at Glasgow College of Art and then completed an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art. His client list includes the likes of Faber & Faber, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Tate Museums, and in Autumn 2012 Merrell Books published “Mark Hearld’s Work Book” – the first book devoted to Mark’s work.
