You know when you see some work – whether it be a piece of artwork, or textiles or ceramics, or furniture – and as soon as you have laid your eyes upon it, you just can’t forget it? Well this is how we feel about the work of Canadian artist Aaron S Moran. The more we explore his archive of work, the more we keep saying “wow”. It’s the colours…the shapes…the textures… the combinations.. the series of works. Infact – it’s very much the ‘series’ approach that we love.
Aaron explains that “through assemblage and painting I explore themes of development, antiquity, and the myth of progress. My work attempts to excavate the history of locations through the use of found materials while drawing attention to the inherent aftermath of growth in both urban and sub-urban environments.” Lush lush lush lush lush!
