We love this work by artist JJ Adams where icons are reduced to trailer trash with tattoos and piercings, it’s a modern day take on the punk aesthetic and we approve of the results! Famous photographs are turned on their heads and given a whole new meaning, from the wholesome Audrey Hepburn flicking the finger, to a menacing looking Elvis growling at the camera, these celebrities are viewed in a whole new light. Iconic London landmarks are also given the JJ Adams treatment, trashed and graffiti-ed they lose their status and become any old street corner in Britain.

Adams has talents in many mediums and uses a range of media in his work from spray paint to hand painting acrylics, screen printing, collage and digital matte painting – as well as photography. His influences are pretty evident in the work – as you can probably tell they include Norman Rockwell, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Sir Peter Blake, amongst others. Check out his website for more work, including some awesome Last Supper style works featuring some very famous faces…
