We came across the title sequence for  the new English caper film ‘The Hot Potato’ last weekend, and while we are yet to watch the actual film in full (i’m about 40mins into it so far), the opening title sequence is wonderful! The team responsible for this charming work is Rushes a London-based award winning international VFX company – and we LOVE what they have put together..

We’ve shared a few stills below, but have a look for yourself here.. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do (we’re sure you will)..

We have something really lovely to share with you today – if you haven’t heard about this already! Disney’s charming short film up for an Oscar this year, Paperman, is a nostalgic return to the tradition of 2-D, hand-drawn animation that also embraces what modern 3-D animation technology has to offer…and it’s absolutely brilliant!

The short is a little urban fairy tale about a man who attempts to capture the attention of the woman of his dreams with paper airplanes he launches from his skyscraper office to hers. We won’t tell you anymore as you HAVE to watch it for yourself… but it was made with new in-house software called Meander that enables a hybrid approach to animation, where characters and backgrounds are drawn over an initial digital layer.

Grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy it HERE….

This short animation is just wonderful! You HAVE to take a quick look as it’s just really sweet and really clever! Created by the artist known as PES, it’s a really delightful piece of work..makes us wanna get making ‘stuff’! (with paper and glue…not spaghetti and sauce..though we’d be happy with that too!).

Come watch it here! Another really brilliant piece is ‘Fresh Guacamole’ which you can see here‘Fresh Guacamole’ was even given a mention in the Oscar nominations within the animated short film category. Deservedly impressive stuff, huh?
